“Climate change and inflation targeting frameworks”

Event description

Young Scholars' Webinar on Climate Finance and Economics

Join us for a panel discussion in collaboration with the Council on Economic Policies (CEP).

The discussion will focus on two recent reports: “The case for adaptive inflation targeting: monetary policy in a hot and volatile world” from LSE, and “Consumer Durables, Monetary Policy, and the Green Transition” from the Danish central banks. The central challenge to be addressed is how monetary policy can adapt in a world where negative supply shocks caused by climate change as well as the imposition of carbon taxes may intensify persistent inflationary pressures.
